A focused, intentional design-build studio.

Elevations Design Build was founded in 2024 in the Cedros Design District in Solana Beach. The studio carries over twenty-five years of combined experience in design-build from foundation to finish.

Architecture, interior design, permitting, and construction are handled under one roof, by one team, on one schedule. We work in coastal North County: Solana Beach, Del Mar, Rancho Santa Fe, La Jolla, Encinitas, Cardiff, and Carlsbad.

We don't bid against other contractors. Every project begins on a Design Phase contract and converts to a Construction Contract built off a locked, fully specified scope. The standard we hold is the standard we'd hold for our own homes.

(The model)

Four phases. One project.

Most remodels travel through three firms: an architect, a general contractor, and an interior designer brought in late. The handoffs are where projects fail. We compress those three roles into one studio.

    Architecture

    Floor plans, elevations, structural strategy, coastal-permit planning. Drawn in-house, by the firm that will build them.

  • (02)

    Interior design

    Cabinetry, stone, tile, fixtures, lighting, and finishes. Specified to the SKU during design, not selected during construction.

  • (03)

    Permitting

    Structural, MEP, Title 24, and coastal-zone applications packaged for first-pass approval. Coastal ADUs delivered inside the AB 462 60-day window.

  • (04)

    Construction

    Framing, MEP rough-in, drywall, finish carpentry, stone, cabinetry, fixtures. The crew answers to the office that drew the plans.

    Material first

    Selections drive design. We start with cabinetry, stone, tile, hardware, and lighting, then draw the room around what we know we'll actually build with.

  • 02

    Detailed over decorated

    Trim returns, hardware reveals, transitions between surfaces. The details everyone else hides, we draw.

  • 03

    Specified to the SKU

    Every cabinet, slab, faucet, and fixture is specified by manufacturer part number during design. No substitutions at install.

  • 04

    One team, drawing through delivery

    The same studio draws the plans, pulls the permits, builds the work, and hands over the keys. The accountability never leaves the room.
